Epic Pinball - MS-DOS

Epic Pinball2.txt Epic Pinball Epic Pinball is a shareware simulator of slot machines popular from arcades, commonly known as pinball machines. The game was commissioned by Epic Megagames by the Canadian Digital Extremes studio founded by James Schmalz, which is also responsible for its commercial version, known as Silverball. A characteristic feature of this title is the impressive number of tables available, two of which: Crash & Burn and Deep Sea have also been released separately as standalone games. The game uses a classic top-down perspective. During the game, we see only a part of the table on the screen, and the camera shows only a fragment on which the ball is currently located. The gameplay is about getting as many points as possible by carrying out subsequent tasks of hitting specific ramps and bumpers in a given order. The raster graphics of the game in a resolution of 320x240 show a high level of performance for its time. The tables are colorful and full of details, and the scoring rules on each of them are introduced by detailed instructions. Up to 4 players can participate in the game simultaneously, competing with each other alternately. The complete Epic Pinball set consists of three independent packages, each of which includes four differently styled tables. They are dominated by a fantasy and science-fiction atmosphere, although we can also find tables with an adventure, undersea or racing theme. The first of the packages is Android, Pot of Gold, Excalibur and Crash and Burn. The second one features Magic, Jungle Pinball, Deep Sea and Enigma. The last table, which changes the appearance and layout of elements during the game, deserves particular attention. The third package includes tables: Cyborgirl, Pangea, Space Journey and Toy Factory. The CD version also includes an African Safari table, not available in the shareware version.
