Hi Octane - MS-DOS

Hi Octane2.txt Hi Octane Hi-Octane is a futuristic racing game set in the realities of science fiction, developed by the experienced Bullfrog studio, with such renowned titles as Populous, Powermonger, Syndicate, Theme Park and Magic Carpet. The game was originally created as a side project of the studio, but the need to meet the obligations towards the publisher meant that it was completed and released in a truly express pace of 2 weeks. In the game, we sit at the controls of one of the six available cars, which differ from each other not only in appearance (some resemble cars, other planes), but above all in parameters such as weight, maximum speed, endurance and weapons. A characteristic feature of Hi-Octane is the considerable openness of the routes, allowing you to choose one of several routes to your destination and use the whole mass of branches and shortcuts. During the race, an important role is played by exhausting gasoline, which we can refill by collecting bonuses scattered along the route or by driving through specially designated refueling zones. We replenish the stock of covers and weapons in a similar way. Individual vehicles are equipped with mini-guns (with endless ammunition) and limited rockets, thanks to which we can make our rivals' lives a bit more difficult, and even eliminate them from the race for a while. In terms of binding, Hi-Octane runs on a modified Magic Carpet 2 engine, offering good quality three-dimensional graphics. The creators also tried to provide a large variety of routes, four camera settings and a realistic sense of speed.
