Basstour - MS-DOS

Basstour2.txt Is a fish game. This is Richard Olsen, who developed Bass Class and BassDuel. In all, BassTour supports up to fifty different lakes, which could be purchased as separate products. Nels Anderson, who is mentioned among the authors, also developed BassMap, a shareware tool that can be used to create new lake maps. BassTour has three difficulty levels: Novice, Intermediate, and Pro, along with a practice mode. In the game, the goal is to catch as many fish as possible in a three-day tournament with the highest weight by winning the match. The player is fishing for a six-hour session each day, in-game, not in real time, and all fish caught must be weighed before the end of the day, no weighing means no credit for all this work. In addition, players need to manage fuel and battery to make sure they don't get stuck on the lake and choose the right fishing rod and bait for the environment. To help the fisherman / woman, they are given a boat equipped with an engine, a fixed amount of fuel, a map recorder, fishing tackle boxes and gear etc. The player can fish in six different lakes in the base game and the computer places the fish in realistic locations depending on the lake topography. The game also features the cited thirty "best names for perch fishing" as opponents.
