Castles - MS-DOS

Castles2.txt The game combines several gameplay genres, including resource management, a text-based multiple-choice story, and a simple combat mode. In Castles, the player builds up to eight castles, one after the other, in different regions of West England and Wales. Each scenario starts in the castle builder mode with a flat, blank map of the region. The map has features such as trees and water, but is largely devoid of controllable terrain. On this map, the player designs the outline of the castle, including the gate, walls, and round or square towers. Each piece of the castle can be adjusted in height, thickness or both, and most of them can be additionally equipped with defensive functions. There are boiling oil cauldrons in the defensive walls and the towers have holes for arrows. When designing a castle, the player must take into account the amount of resources available in the region, as larger or multiple items can easily drain resources and prevent the castle from being completed.
