The game was originally created for the Amiga, then it was transferred to other popular platforms at that time. Two games in this series were released, despite the fact that they were very popular.
The title song with the ironic lyrics also won recognition: "War has never been so much fun / go to your brother / kill him with your gun / leave him lying in his uniform / dying in the sun".
The game has a version for mobile phones. Cannon Fodder presents the picture of war in a very humorous way. The game takes place on a board that is not divided into fields, the goal is to eliminate opponents. The screen before the mission shows a hill with the graves of soldiers killed in action, with a line of volunteers in front of it (they will soon land in this cemetery). At the top is a sports counter (it starts at 0-0) that shows fallen soldiers on opposite sides over time
