Earthworm Jim2.txt Earthworm Jim Earthworm Jim is a 1994 platform video game developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Playmates Interactive Entertainment, featuring an earthworm named Jim in the costume of a robot that fights against evil. Created by Doug TenNapel and designed by David Perry, the game was released on Sega Genesis in 1994, and then ported to many other video game consoles. The game was appreciated for its smooth, cartoon-like animation and "original" humor. It was well received by critics and was given a sequel, Earthworm Jim 2, in 1995. Jim's task is twofold: he has to avoid the many opponents of the game who are chasing him because they want to retrieve the outfit, and also to save and protect Princess Like her name from them. The game takes place as Jim sneaks out and defeats all the enemies, and also saves the princess What is her name. However, not only does she not reciprocate Jim's feelings, she is also crushed by the flying cow that was fired at the beginning of the game. The game works as a 2D side-scrolling platformer with running and shooting game elements. The player controls Jim and has to maneuver him through the level avoiding obstacles and enemies. The player can use Jim's gun as a method to shoot enemies or his head as a whip to whip enemies. The movement of the whip also allows the player to grab and bend from certain hooks in the game. Some levels have additional requirements that go beyond just reaching the end of the level. For example, the "For Pete's sake" level is about making sure Peter Puppy's computer-controlled character passes unscathed, which is achieved by beating him to make him jump over the pits and defeating enemies before they can hurt him. Failure to do so causes Peter to attack Jim, depriving him of his health. The levels usually end with a boss fight. The game features many different villains in boss battles, including Psy-Crow, Queen Slug-for-a-Butt, Evil the Cat, Bob the Killer Goldfish, Major Mucus, and Professor Monkey-For-A-Head. Two villains appeared in this game as the only ones, Chuck, the junkyard with the stomach, and Doc Duodenum, the mad organ.
