In the main module of the game, the player can freely shape his own dream city from scratch. The ultimate goal of the fun in this case is to create an attractive place to live for millions of people and bring it to the level of a world-famous metropolis by 2051. The authors have additionally prepared several scenarios in which fans of strategic thinking can prove themselves. Each of them presents a different metropolis known from the real world and challenges the player to solve its problems. They are often associated with the reconstruction of a given area after a natural disaster. In Sim City 2000, the creators used three-dimensional graphics and cartoon, eye-catching style. The scenarios used in the title are loosely inspired by the fate of selected American cities that were hit by natural disasters in the 20th century.
